About this template

This template can be used during morning meetings, circle time, or as a fun and interactive literacy activity. It helps young learners practice letter recognition and phonics through song and movement.

How it works

Roll the dice to select a letter of the alphabet. Once the letter is chosen, the class sings about that letter to the tune of "The Wheels on the Bus."

If the dice roll selects the letter "M," the class sings:

"The M on the bus says /m/ /m/ /m/, /m/ /m/ /m/, /m/ /m/ /m/, The M on the bus says /m/ /m/ /m/, All day long!"

After singing about the selected letter, roll the dice again to choose a new letter. The class repeats the process, singing about each new letter and its corresponding sound. The activity continues until several letters have been sung about or the entire alphabet has been covered.
