How to use a Traffic light for classroom management
Here are some of our favorite ways to implement a Traffic light classroom management system in a classroom setting. Check out an example of this in our Independent work template.
Set Teacher Interaction Rules:
- Red: Don't disturb the teacher.
- Yellow: Ask a neighbor first or wait for a break to talk to the teacher.
- Green: It's okay to approach the teacher.
Manage Device Use:
- Red: No devices.
- Yellow: Use devices only when told.
- Green: Devices allowed for learning.
Progress Check-in:
- Red: I haven't made much progress on the task yet.
- Yellow: I'm halfway through the task.
- Green: I've completed the task.
